First Rowlett United Methodist Church Celebrates 125th Anniversary on Sunday, November 22, 2020

On Sunday, November 22nd, First Rowlett United Methodist Church celebrates 125 years of ministry in the community of Rowlett. From humble beginnings with a handful of people meeting in the former Big A schoolhouse in 1895, the now 1400 member First Rowlett has grown at the corner of Main St and President George Bush tollway to be a leader in the community. They continue today to support the city and its leaders and provide spiritual outreach to its citizens. The church was a relief center for the city of Rowlett during the tornado recovery in 2016-17 and continues to focus on the needs of local families today. First Rowlett works closely with Garland ISD to support children and families through their weekend backpack food ministry, reading partnership program, and interdenominational partnership with the Reindeer Project, providing Christmas gifts and meals for over 1300 children last year. Led by Rev. Pam White, the church will celebrate this milestone of service in worship at 10:30 am on the 22nd, including proclamations from the City of Rowlett and State of Texas, and will also Livestream the service on their YouTube channel. You can access the celebration and more information on their Facebook page or their website.
