Since 1991 April has been designated as National Volunteer Month. It was part of George H. W. Bush’s 1000 Points of Light campaign in that same year. This April is a perfect time to share your knowledge and skills as a volunteer with the Friends of the Rowlett Public Library in making our library one of the best in the area.

It’s been shown that volunteering has both psychological and physical benefits. Volunteering with Friends of the Rowlett Public Library will increase your involvement in the Rowlett community and introduce you to new people who share your interests. Scientific studies show that volunteering not only improves one’s sense of belonging but can also help lower blood pressure and offer increased protection from Alzheimer’s. We need volunteers for:

Donor Wall Committee—Spread the word about how companies can gain recognition for their generosity or individuals can honor that special person who fostered their love of reading.

Grand Re-Opening Committee— If you love planning and attending events, we have need of your expertise.
