Matt Newhouse, a special education teacher at Rowlett High School, demonstrated his cup- stacking skills to win $1000 for the school from Dunkin' Donuts. His pyramid of cups was the highest among the non-profits competing.

Coffee and donut lovers turned out in force for the May 14grand opening of the new Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant located at 2501 Lakeview, Rowlett. (in the parking lot of Home Depot) In celebration of the Grand Opening, several nonprofit organizations competed in a “Dunkin’ Cups for Charity” cup stacking competition. Participating organizations were: Rowlett Chamber of Commerce, Needy Children’s Fund, Women In Need, Rowlett High School and Boys & Girls Club of  RockwallCounty. Teacher Matt Newhouse, from Rowlett High School, won the contest to garner $1000 for the school.

The official ribbon- cutting was held at 9 a.m. and city officials, chamber of commerce representatives and Rowlett neighbors were on hand to celebrate. The Rowlett High School Drum Line also performed, accompanied by a dancing "Sprinkles the Donut." 

Guests will enjoy the newest Dunkin' Donuts menu offerings, such as the Chicken Apple Sausage Breakfast Sandwich and the Frozen Arnold Palmer Coolatta. The new restaurant will be open from 5 a.m. – 11 p.m., seven days a week and will employ approximately 25 crew members, serving up Dunkin’ Donuts internationally recognized coffee, lattes, donuts and bakery goods.  For more information , follow us on Twitter- @DunkinDonutsDFW.
