ROWLETT, Texas –Jan. 14, 2016— Lake Pointe Sleep Center was recently granted reaccreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) for a period of five years beginning Jan. 16, 2016. The accreditation represents sleep centers that provide the highest quality of patient care. The sleep center was also granted accreditation for home sleep apnea testing for five years by the AASM. This is the first time Lake Pointe Sleep Center received the home sleep apnea testing accreditation.

The accreditations are granted to sleep centers that meet rigorous standards set by the AASM. Through the accreditation process, AASM is able to distinguish which sleep centers uphold the Standards for Accreditation of providing excellent healthcare and enhancing the awareness of sleep as an important element for health, public safety and the quality of life.
The AASM is the leading voice in the sleep field and has accredited more than 2,500 sleep centers. By setting the standards, the AASM vision is to achieve optimal health through better sleep. The standards are set so providers maintain proficiency to sleep patients. The AASM grants accreditation to sleep facilities, home sleep apnea testing, durable medical equipment and corporate facilities.
